Characteristic and Management of Ameloblastoma In Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery At Hasan Sadikin General Hospital: Retrospective Study

Introduction Ameloblastoma is common benign epithelial tumor of odontogenic origin. The presentation ameloblastoma unique as it locally aggressive with high recurrence rate if not treated adequately. This study aimed to conduct retrospective analyze the characteristics and management in patient Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital between periods January 2020 – December 2020. Material Method was a retrospective, descriptive feature all histopathologically diagnosed during We took data from each such demographic (gender, age), radiological features, histopatholoical diagnosis, location, management, defect reconstruction ameloblastoma. Result A total 23 patients were conventional ameloblastoma, including 11 plexiform (48%), ten follicular (43%), two mixed types plexiform-follicular (9%). Among them, 6 (21%) conservatively (Enucleation dredging) 17 radically segmental resection 9 (39%) patients, hemimandibulectomy 5 (22%) marginal 2 (9%) hemimaxillectomy one (4%) patient. Conclusion characteristic most predilection location mandible region peak incidence third decades life.
